Stephanie Kuleba Dies From Breast Implant Complications

Stephanie Kuleba had a charmed life: captain of the varsity cheerleading squad at West Boca High, a nearly perfect grade-point average, good looks and a ticket to the University of Florida, where she would start her journey toward becoming a medical doctor.
Her friends said she was "perfect," so when Kuleba died Saturday of complications from breast augmentation surgery, none of them could understand how the girl whose success in life "was a sure thing" could perish in such a strange and devastating fashion.
....While no official cause of death was released by authorities or Kuleba's family, many of her friends said she suffered a severe reaction to anesthesia given to her during a breast augmentation procedure Friday night.

Sexy Cynthia Nixon Lampoons Boob Augmentation Report

Cynthia Nixon sliced and diced the New York Post with her rapier wit last week after the truth-challenged tabloid reported that the "Sex and the City" star had undergone breast-enhancement surgery.
"I was at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital for my 'three-monthly' checkup," said Nixon, a breast-cancer survivor. "I was in the Oncology Department. I guess they think that means 'plastic surgery.'" Badum-bump!
"We got a call from [the Post] asking if I'd had breast augmentation, and my publicist laughed at them and said, 'No, of course not.' But they printed it anyway. If I was going to get a boob job, wouldn't it make sense that I'd get it before 'Sex and the City'?" Ba-dump!

Kelly Rowland Destiny's Child Singer After Plastic Surgery

The 27-year-old singer went under the knife after a long decision-making process. "I was sick of not fitting into my tops," she says. "There was this one really hot House of Dereon top _ I just wanted to fill that out!"
Rowland says that top _ designed by Beyonce's mom, Tina Knowles _ complements her new curves: "I put it on and I looked so good! I'm so happy. I feel complete."
Rowland, who has released two solo albums, says she hesitated to discuss the surgery.
"It is a decision I made for myself. I like it, and that's all that counts. For young people: Think about it before you just jump off and do something (you may regret later)," she says.

Breast Reduction Surgery and bra-size

Unlike gynecomastia (male breast reduction surgery) female breast reduction surgery (reduction mammoplasty) is performed to lessen issues that impact the health of women. Besides the physical pain, women may also experience breathing problems and irritation or rashes under the breasts. And, yes, they may problems with bra straps which cause pain, as well as difficulty finding clothes that fit. In a reduction mammoplasty, excess breast tissue is removed, and the skin is tightened. This gives a natural shape that is appropriate for the size and shape of the body.
Back to Britain
Nearly 10,000 women seek breast reduction surgery every year in Britain. As with any cosmetic surgery, the cost can be great. Dr. Alex Clarke, a clinical psychologist who works with the Royal Free Hospital, believes that these women could save their money by simply getting a bra that fits. Prof. Kefah Mokbel, a breast surgery consultant with St. George's hospital agrees, and has called for bra-fitting clinics routinely available with National Health Service.
Though this news comes from the UK, there are thousands of women in this country that are going through the same situation. Breast reduction surgery was one of the top five reconstructive procedures performed in 2007 with nearly 106,000 performed. This number has gone up a little from the previous year. Perhaps American women, like their British counterparts, simply need a better bra.
According to the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, skin cancer is on the rise among young women. In a study conducted by the National Cancer Institute on Caucasian men and women between 1980 and 2004, and focusing on those between 15- and 39-years-old, annual cases of melanoma increased from 9.4 cases per 100,000 to 13.9 cases per 100,000. This is a rise of 50 percent. What's more, the study's authors have no idea why cases are on the rise. While recreational tanning and tanning beds are still popular, even though most of us are aware of the risks, the authors claim there need to be further studies to see if these factor into the rise.
While many people continue to obtain cosmetic surgery in the hope that they can somehow emulate, or imitate, their favorite Hollywood Somebody, one thing that is sometimes overlooked is the way the skin looks besides the fact they have no wrinkles. Yes, wrinkles can be eliminated through various injectable fillers and whatnot, but it's rarely mentioned that days in the sun are going to add to those wrinkles you're trying to avoid. Doctors will agree that it's better to be pale and healthy than worrying if your new mole is precancerous due to years of burning while you hope for that perfect Hollywood tan.

Angelina's lips is one of the top choices for cosmetic surgery

Many are taking extreme measures to look like their favorite celebrities. They want Angelina's lips, J-Lo's butt and Halle Berry's bodyDr. Robert Rey, star surgeon of the E! reality show "Dr. 90210 said “Many of my patients request celebrity features when coming in for a particular procedure. It makes sense, because the celebrities define beauty in our society today."Most popular choices are Jessica Biel, Courteney Cox and Angelina Jolie. When it comes to boobs, they want just like Carmen Electra and Salma Hayek.

Angelina Jolie's lips is popular among plastic surgery

Angelina Jolie's lips is one of the top list in of the annual "Hollywood's Hottest Looks" survey. This was revealed on Thursday by The Beverly Hills Institute of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.
According to doctors Richard Fleming, "Our patients continue to turn to Hollywood to raise their standard of beauty. Our patients want to look rested, energetic and, most of all, youthful like the celebrities they see in glossy magazines."

More on Tara Reid's Bad Boob Job - plastic surgery

Yeah, after letting the whole world see her funbags scarred like the moon's surface, she finally had enough, and got them repaired. I don't have a problem with that at all. However, I do have a problem with the fact that she got the boob-job in the first place. What's wrong with having normal size boobs anyway? People come in all shapes and sizes, so boobs should come in all shapes and sizes as well. I like them big or small, as long as they're on a female. (No man-boobs please)

Then again, Tara Reid is one of those drunk college girls that is always making out with everyone at the party. By the time she comes around you, you don't want to touch her or even speak to her. BTW, what has Reid done since American Pie? That Uwe Boll movie doesn't count?

The Kind of Useful Devil- Dirt Devil

I hate cleaning carpets because it takes like forever to do. Dust and other particles easily get in any carpet. Cleaning gadgets are handy for this work. But with the energy these gadgets consume, it’s a hard decision to buy one. Many people would just endure the difficulties of manually cleaning their homes, garage, etc, than pay more on their electric bills due to the use of cleaning technology

Herpes Signs and Symptoms

During the body’s first exposure to the herpes virus, the immune system develops antibodies and other weapons against the virus. During a recurrence, then, this "immune memory" can help to fight off infection more quickly.

As a result, as time goes on there are usually fewer sores, they heal faster, and the outbreak is less painful. Some people never experience another recurrence, which is often attributed to a strong immune system response.

Nerves can have many ‘axons’ which is why the herpes virus can travel different pathways to your skin. This is why outbreaks may naturally appear in different areas "nearby" to one another.
However, each nerve has a particular area of skin that it serves called a dermatome. The herpes lesions are limited to the dermatome it initially infected unless you infect yourself somewhere else.

This means that the outbreaks are limited to the body area where the infection exists (for example, the genital area) unless you contract or spread the infection somewhere else.

Shocking List of Suspected Celebrities with Herpes (George W. Bush??)

Any sexually active person is capable of catching (and spreading) an STD. This is actually one of the scary things about Herpes and STDs - the fact that anyone can become infected.

When a person's private and personal life becomes a public affair the world get's a small glimpse of how celebrities can and 'do' have herpes too.

Take the case of Liza Minnelli and husband, David Gest. Their bitter divorce battle has escalated to Gest claiming that Minnelli had genital herpes and did not tell him about it until after they were married.

Paris Hilton Has A STD(Sexual Transmitted Disease) Guess Who ?

Elijah Blue Allman, continued on his story and added, " Paris had red spot like pimples around her vagina, at the time when I saw them, I was completely wasted and in my mind, they looked like well decorated polka dots pointing towards her vagina. As if they somehow directing me where to put my penis. So I did."

All I can say is wow. I have also added a NEW poll to the right hand side of the front page, I want to know who YOU think has a STD in Hollywood.

Vivica Fox Bad Breast Implants

Perez Hilton scribbled what everyone was thinking upon seeing this picture of Vivica A. Fox inexplicably displaying what is unmistakably a dent on her right breast. She could have worn something more modest to cover it up, but she had to gross everyone out with the worst bad boob job Iā€™ve ever seen.

Tori Spelling admits her breasts are fake

Actress Tori Spelling has finally admitted that her breasts are fake.

The former Beverly Hills 90210 star's cleavage has caused years of speculation since she starred in the 90s show - and now she has finally put the rumors to rest.

Tori said: "I had a boob job. There it is. I finally said it.

"I wanted to come clean that I had my boobs done in my 20s because people falsely write that I've had all these things done.

"I've had the two procedures that probably every other woman in Hollywood has had done."

Sex and the Single Woman - Facing sexuality after breast surgery

Is breast reconstruction a must for the single woman?
Many single women feel they do not really have a choice as to whether or not they have reconstructive surgery. Many feel that it is a “must”. I encourage you to take your time in making this decision. You can have reconstructive surgery done at any point in your life, but you can’t completely undo it once it’s done. You may want to seek counseling or bring the issue up at a support group to help you sort this out. Listening to the experiences of other women is often the best information you can have.

Sex and the Elderly Woman
A woman’s age can make a difference in how she and her partner cope with sexuality and the loss of her breast. Many older women were taught from a young age that sex is a private matter that should not be discussed. As well, older women may have physical conditions not related to their breast surgery that have already forced them to change or limit their sexuality. Chronic pain, joint problems, heart conditions, fatigue, and many other health problems may affect how older women approach sex.

Lipodissolve: Can It Melt Fat Without Plastic Surgery?

Lipodissolve (also know as Lipolysis, Lipotherapy, Lipo-dissolve, Lipostabil, ThinJection, and Flab Jab), is a controversial procedure in which drug mixtures are injected into patients to destroy fat cells, which then leave the body along with normal waste removal. Similar in concept to mesotherapy, Lipodissolve claims to remove excess fat in localized areas of the body. Fat deposits that are resistant to exercise and diet, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, face, and back, are often the primary concerns of those patients seeking this procedure. While some patients may lose up to three inches in circumference, results vary from patient to patient. The drug mixtures used in the procedure, which have yet to be approved by the FDA, are delivered through multiple microinjections into subcutaneous fat. These injections take place over one to three treatment sessions, which are each four to six weeks apart.

According to 2005 Aesthetic Society Cosmetic Surgery Statistics, Lipodissolve was performed on 4,773 Americans in 2004. It may cost anywhere from $1,000 to $1,500 per treatment with three to six treatments required. This can prove costly for patients who may not receive the desired results.

There has been speculation that Britney Spears had Lipodissolve done in Las Vegas recently to help her trim fat off. It has been claimed that Britney visited the Advanced Lipo Dissolve Center in order to get rid of some of the post-pregnancy fat on her stomach. Read the full article about Britney Spears’ Liposuction rumors.

Latest Plastic Surgery Innovation: Lunchtime Breast Augmentation?

Celution is not yet available in the United States, but it has been approved by the European Union for 2008. The technique will first focus on breast reconstruction for women who have had breast cancer and have undergone a partial mastectomy (breast removal) or lumpectomy. However, breast augmentation through the Celution techinque may be a possibility in the future.

Fat taken from the patient is placed in the Celution system, a device which separates out and concentrates stem cells and regenerative cells. About an hour later, a prescribed dose of regenerative cells are injected into the patient’s breast tissue. “It works by ’supercharging’ the fat cells, which makes them stay where they are injected”, explained Dr. Eric Daniels, senior director of business development for Cytori Therapeutics in San Diego, which developed the Celution technique.

Following the Celution procedure, breasts may enlarge up to two cup sizes over about six months, while also appearing more natural than with traditional breast augmentation procedures. One day, women seeking to increase their bust may be able to go in and have this procedure done during their lunch break, and of course, the bonus is that fat would also be taken from the stomach or thighs while one’s breasts are enlarged. Who could complain about that?

Breast Implants Before vs. After Pregnancy

A woman who is interested in breast implants and in motherhood should weigh the plusses and minuses of both options.

One school of thought is to do the surgery when you want it. If you want a breast augmentation now, then do it now! You might not have your children for another 5-10 years. Why should you go without the implants for that relatively long period of time?

Moreover, breast implants are safe for children. They do not contaminate the breast milk.

And implants may actually improve breast appearance after pregnancies and lactation. Often, women lose fullness in the upper halves of their breasts after children and breast feeding. In recent mothers, I frequently place implants to increase upper pole volume, and sometimes I add breast lifts to position the nipple properly. If a patient has already had a breast augmentation, then I usually need to perform the lifts (called mastopexies) only.

Implants are not, however, without some risks. Large implants can stretch nerves, especially the nerves that provide sensation to the nipples and areolas. If those nerves are excessively stretched, then the nipples and areolas can become numb. If the nipples and areolas are numb, the breasts might not produce enough milk. Nipple-areolar numbness is uncommon but not rare; about 5-10% of patients do notice some degree of numbness.

Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox) in the Management of Levodopa-Induced Peak-Dose Dyskinesias in Parkinson's Disease

The study will follow a cross-over design to maximize statistical power and decrease biases inherent to small samples as patients will become their own controls. After a baseline assessment, patients will be randomized to receive either botulinum toxin or an equal amount and distribution of normal saline (placebo). Patients will undergo reassessment of function at one and four weeks after the initial and second session of injections. The second procedure will occur, using the opposite treatment arm (Botox® or saline placebo), three months after the first injection session. Doses of levodopa, dopaminergic agonists, and antidyskinetic drugs if applicable, will be kept constant throughout the study. All study assessments will be carried out at the time treatment is expected to cause the greatest severity of LID.

Treatment of Drooling With Type A Botulinum Toxin in Children With Cerebral Palsy

Sialorrhea, or drooling, has been reported to be a significant problem in 10%to 37% of patients with cerebral palsy. Excessive drooling may cause skin maceration, increased the burden of caregiver, affect articulation of the patients, and increase the risk of aspiration and dehydration. Many options, including various therapies, medications, surgeries and radiation, have been proposed to treat drooling. Yet none of these is universally successful and many have potential complications. Nerve endings of the parasympathetic post-ganglionic neurons secret aceylcholine. Botulinum toxin should be able to inhibit salivary gland secretion by blocking the release of acetylcholine. Very limited case series had proved fair result of botulinum toxin injection to treat drooling. However, most of the subjects were adult patients with neurological disorders. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of botulinum toxin injection to treat drooling in children with cerebral palsy, and to find the most appropriate dosage, duration of effect and side effects.

Botulinum Toxin Injection for Treatment of Vaginismus

Vaginismus is the recurrent or persistent involuntary contraction of the perineal muscles surrounding the outer third of the vagina when penile, finger, tampon, or speculum penetration is attempted . Vaginismus can be primary, in which the women has never been able to have intercourse, or secondary, which is often due to acquired dyspareunia. It is relatively rare, affecting about 1% of women . Treatment of vaginismus is directed toward extinguishing the conditioned involuntary vaginal spasm. This can be accomplished by teaching Kegel exercises to acquaint the patient with voluntary control of her levator muscles. Medications such as lubricants, anesthetic creams, propranolol, or alprazolam to reduce anxiety have been used effectively, but approximately 10% of patients do not respond. Botulinum toxin type A has been successfully used to treat a wide range of muscular disorders such as strabismus, blepharospasm, and cervical dystonia. It is also been used to reduce facial lines and wrinkles. The extent of paralysis depends on the amount of toxin to which there is exposure relative to muscle bulk.In our previous study, one week after injecting botulinum toxin in 23 patients (95.8%) had a vaginal exam, which showed no or little resistance; 18 (75%) achieved satisfactory intercourse after the first injection. Now we are to make comparison between different doses of toxin injection and record the patient sexual satisfaction.

Botulinum Toxin A for the Treatment of Chronic Lumbar Back Pain

One hundred sixty subjects will be randomly assigned to one of four arms (placebo/placebo, placebo/Botox, Botox/placebo, Botox/Botox). In the first of two phases, randomized subjects will blindly receive either Botox® (study arms Botox/placebo and Botox/Botox) or placebo (study arms placebo/placebo and placebo/Botox) injection into the lumbar paraspinal muscles. The subjects will be assessed using validated scales for pain and disability prior to injection and monthly thereafter for four months. In the second phase, a second set of lumbar injections will be administered based on the initial randomization and will blindly receive either Botox® (study arms placebo/Botox and Botox/Botox) or placebo (study arms placebo/placebo and Botox/placebo) injection into the lumbar paraspinal muscles. The subjects will again be assessed using the same validated scales for pain and disability, prior to injection and monthly thereafter, but for six months to extend the monitoring period to better define the limits of duration of effect.

This will result in half of the subjects being crossed-over from Botox® to placebo (study arm Botox/placebo) or vice versa (study arm placebo/Botox) and one quarter of subjects receiving two courses of either Botox® alone (Botox/Botox) or placebo alone (placebo/placebo). All subjects will continue to receive medication and/or physiotherapy per standard of care but those treatments will be recorded and controlled for in the data analysis.

Consider the wrinkles in Botox

Not only is Botox expensive, but it's also a medical treatment with potential complications.

Toxin from the bacteria Clostridium botulinum is injected directly into muscles underlying the skin in different facial areas, paralyzing them. Once it takes effect, the muscles become incapable of contracting, making the overlying skin appear smoother. This paralysis, however, is not permanent. Over time, the muscles regain their tone, which means the wrinkles reappear. The cosmetic effect can last for several months, after which time treatment needs to be repeated. The FDA recommends that Botox be given no more frequently than every three months. Who's an ideal candidate for Botox? It's approved for use in people ages 18 to 65. But those interested in getting Botox need to do their homework. Not only is it expensive (a single injection is several hundred dollars), but it is also a medical treatment with potential complications (which means those popular "Botox parties" are a definite no-no).

Problems range from mild (eyelid droop) to major (botulism, which can cause paralysis of arms, legs and even diaphragm). Cosmetic therapies for treating wrinkles can help improve a person's outlook on life. In my practice, this can make the right person more receptive to recommendations on exercise and good nutrition, which I believe has to do with the old adage that if you look good, you feel good. Making sure you understand the pros and cons of Botox is, therefore, imperative for those of you who want your stroll down memory lane to be more wrinkle-free.

Brigitte Nielsen to Have Plastic Surgery on TV?

According to Brigitte, she will receive “a complete renewal: facelift, eyelift, fat injections in my face, liposuction, a breast lift and I need new teeth... I know I am the first female celebrity in the world who has allowed herself to be filmed like that in an operating theater. I know I will be breaking a taboo. But I’m sure that it will provoke a new discussion. It’s time things change. I feel 30 and want to look that way again. The secrecy in Hollywood is annoying. You can see that the stars do not age naturally. It’s not right that the fans, the normal women, are lied to.”

Although I found her annoying in The Surreal Life, it's refreshing to hear her talk this way. Hopefully everything goes well with her plastic surgery. By the way, the posted photo is a great example of someone with breast implants that are probably

Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon - Plastic Surgery??

Apparently, soon after the movie's release, they both paid a visit to Roosevelt Hospital on 10th Avenue for minor surgeries. "Cynthia had a breast augmentation and soon after, Kristin had the varicose veins on her legs removed," said an insider. "They both made sure they did it on the quietest day of the week."

I don't consider having varicose veins removed as a plastic surgery, but it can be construed as cosmetic by some. I haven't had a chance to see the SATC movie, but I think my wife is jonesing to add it to my Netflix queue as soon as it is released.

Cynthia Nixon Denies Plastic Surgery Rumors

Cynthia Nixon has denied recent reports that she's had a breast augmentation. According to The Post Chronicle:

U.S. actress and breast cancer survivor Cynthia Nixon is denying a published report that she recently underwent breast augmentation surgery.
Although the New York Post reported that the Sex and the City star had cosmetic surgery at a Manhattan hospital on the quietest day of the week, Nixon told the New York Daily News the story is totally false and she simply went to the hospital for a three-monthly checkup.

Sex Cindy Margolis - Plastic Surgery?

The former "Most Downloaded Woman in the World" Cindy Margolis is making news lately with her July 2008 pictorial in Playboy magazine. The divorced mother of three is now 42 years old and looks fabulous. I do believe she's had a bit of help, though.

When looking at this photo, she appears to be making a rather stern look. Her brow doesn't furrow, however, and this lack of wrinkles is a likely sign of a good Botox job. Her lips may also be modestly enhanced with a filler, like Restylane. I also think she may have had some enhancement of her cheeks, possibly with Sculptra or fat grafting injections. Her skin is flawless, and has been probably helped out by chemical peels and medical strength skin care products. Finally, her breasts don't appear to be completely natural. Overall, I think her work is well-done. She does resemble Shannon Tweed a little bit, so I wonder if they share the same plastic surgeon...
